VTDI Association – Graduate Engineers in Government Research Sectors
VTDI is a professional association for its members. Its purpose is to represent members and safeguard their legal, professional, salary-related, and social interests, while also promoting professional development and cooperation.
Employee Representation
VTDI acts as a professional representative body for its members, working to protect their legal, professional, financial, and social interests. The association also supports members’ professional growth and encourages collaboration between them.
Each year, VTDI organises a variety of events and activities for its members.
Become a Member
In addition to advocacy and representation, VTDI offers members the opportunity to enjoy affordable holidays in association-owned cabins located in Meri-Teijo, Yllästunturi, and Pyhätunturi.
TEK members working at VTT or the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) are eligible to join VTDI. The annual membership fee is €12 and is billed together with the TEK membership fee.
If you are already a TEK member, you can join VTDI through TEK’s membership register at jasenrekisteri@tek.fi.
If you are not yet a TEK member, you must first apply for TEK membership.
You can apply for both TEK and VTDI membership if you hold one of the following degrees:
Bachelor of Science in Technology
Master of Science in Technology
Licentiate of Technology
Doctor of Technology
Architect
Bachelor of Philosophy
Master of Philosophy
Licentiate of Philosophy
Doctor of Philosophy
After submitting the electronic membership application, you will receive a confirmation page that includes a list of TEK local associations. Select VTDI as your local association.

VTDI offers its members and partner organisations the opportunity to stay at very affordable rates in holiday apartments owned by the association in Mathildedal (Meri-Teijo), Pyhätunturi, and Ylläs.

Cabin lotteries are held twice a year. Any weeks remaining available after the lottery are listed separately.

Information about Ylläs
Upon arrival, the key can be collected from the Ylläs Avain Oy office and should be returned there on departure. Bed linen and towel sets are also available for rent from the same office.

Guests will receive key collection instructions by email. Bed linen, towel sets, and other rental items are available through the Pyhähippu central booking office.
